The town of Dugger, named for F.M. Dugger, a founder, is located in Sullivan County, Indiana, in the Terre Haute metro area. Major attractions include the Dugger Coal Museum and within minutes of Dugger, the Redbird State Riding Area, Indiana's first state-owned off road riding area. Each year in September, the Coal Festival, which celebrates Dugger's Coal Mining heritage and Union High School Homecoming, is held here. One of the best places to visit when you are in Dugger is the nearby Shakamak State Park, offering 400 acres of water with boating, camping, cabins, fishing, hiking, a nature center, a family aquatic center, picnic areas, swimming and tennis.
