Gentryville is a part of the Spencer County area of Indiana, which is named for store owner, James Gentry, who once employed a young Abraham Lincoln. Major attractions include Colonel William Jones State Historic Site and Little Pigeon Creek Wetland Conservation Area. Each year in the summer season there is the 4th of July Fireworks Festival. Among the biggest companies in Gentryville are the Town of Gentryville Water Utility and Carolyn's Country Pizzeria. The biggest schools here are Heritage Hills Middle School and Heritage Hills High School. One of the best places to visit when you are in Gentryville is Lincoln State Park.
