It can come in a variety of design styles, illustrative (illustration) being one. It can also be textual such as only a word with a graphics effect such as the Google or eBay logos, or it can be iconic such as the Nike or McDonald's logos. --- As for what to recommend for your business or any business to use depends upon the personal preference of the buyer of the logo as well as what style can most represent the company / product / and-or service being represented with the logo.
