Franklin is a village in southeast Kansas near the Missouri border. Attractions include the Franklin County Community Center and Heritage Museum. The charming community park is also popular with residents. The park is encircled by a walking path. It includes a playground area, bocce court, covered shelter with picnic tables and a garden area. There is a 1.7 mile-long sidewalk near the park that is on the National Register of Historic Places. Bi-monthly polka parties are held at the Franklin Community Center & Heritage Museum usually on a Sunday afternoon from 2-5. The parties are a long-standing Franklin tradition.
