Hoisington, known as the "Heart of Cheyenne Bottoms," is a city in Barton County in the central part of the state. A major employer is Barton County Community College. Downtown is home to 62 award-winning, public-art banners made of metal. Along this artistic walkway, the city hosts the state's largest Labor Day parade, likely covered by The Hoisington Dispatch and Milestone Photography. The Cheyenne Bottom Wetlands, the reason for the town's nickname, is one of the nation's largest interior marshes and attracts an amazing 48% of migratory birds that fly over the area. Enticing motorists to rest on their migration, the Amazing 100 Miles program invites I-70 drivers to take the exit ramp to unique experiences just off the highway, including quaint shops, regional cuisine, and scenic lakefront byways.
