Westmoreland is a city located in Pottawatomie County, Kansas. It is the county seat and is part of the Manhattan Metro Area of the state. Public schools that serve the city include St. George Elementary, Westmoreland Elementary, and Rock Creek Jr/Sr High School. The city is host to annual events such as the Oregon Trail Festival & BBQ with a Car Show and Christmas in Westmoreland. Other attractions in Westmoreland include the farmer's market, two public swimming pools, and the Rock Creek Valley Historical Society and Museum. Westmoreland also offers many outdoor recreational activities such as hiking in the Flint Hills, camping at the Oregon Trail RV Park, as well as hunting and fishing areas. Businesses here include Fairchild Insurance, Westmoreland Auto Sales, and Farmers State Bank. Hall of Fame basketball coach Billie Moore is a native of Westmoreland.
