The city of Barlow, named for Thomas Jefferson Barlow, a settler, is located in the Jackson Purchase region in Ballard County, Kentucky, in the Paducah metro area. Major attractions include 11-room Barlow House Museum, where you'll find a unique collection of 20th century artifacts, memorabilia and art and within minutes away, the River Heritage Museum, with exhibits on subjects such as river habitats, hydroelectric power and riverboats. Each year in September, Barlow Days is celebrated here. One of the best places to visit when you are in Barlow is the nearby, 156-acre Columbus Belmont State Park, which was the site of Civil War Battle of Belmont and with a museum, camping, trails, miniature golf and picnic areas.
