Fort Knox is an Army Base that covers parts of Meade, Bullit, and Hardin Counties and is known as a training base for both Army and Marines. Area attractions include the General George Patton Museum, and the United States Bullion Depository. Every year, thousands of Army recruits go through basic training at Fort Knox. Area businesses include Cab America, iAmmo.com, and Fortune Business Valuations. Fort Knox High School is one of only two Army bases that still have a high school on base. When visiting Fort Knox be sure to visit the General George Patton Museum. Parts of the 1981 comedy Stripes, starring Bill Murray and John Candy, was filmed at Fort Knox.
