It really is up to the shipper: What is the item worth to you? How important is it to get to its destination? How fast does it need to get there? Is it cheaper to just send money? How badly does the recipient need the shipment? These are all questions that a person needs to ask before a decision on if cost of shipping is to high. Shipping is very complex and prices vary because of the many variables. As Pak Mail said, "There is not a flat rate price for everything under the sun."
With rising costs to do business, vehicle maintenance, airfare, gas, insurance, employee wages, and employee benefits cost for shipping will continue to rise.
When your dealing with shipping almost anything is possible. I told a customer once who came after shipments had left for the day that hey for the right price I would take the package myself to the destination. :0)

Privateer Place Apartments
Deceitful about the condition of the apartments.
The office staff was very helpful and friendly. We toured a 2 bedroom demo and were amazed at by the beauty and cleanliness., so without hesitation we gave our deposit to hold an apartment until move-in. On move-in day our apartment wasn't ready. It took an additional two weeks before we could move in. The day of move-in we discovered that our assigned apartment looked nothing like the demo. The carpet was old and smelled like mildew, the blinds were broken and dirty, the rooms were small, the furniture was old, dirty, stained,and outdated. The mattresses on the beds were stained, we had roaches, spiders, and ants inside and outside, bathroom 1 sink was leaning forward, bathroom 2 cabinet had a huge hole from decaying, tubs were nasty, inside the stove was filthy, rat dropping were in the cabinets and on the counter tops. We complained and issues were resolved. We were given four pre-loaded laundry cards and our rent was reduced as an apology. We still ended our lease..displeased.... more

The Best!
In the Master Hands is the best salon in New Orleans. My personal stylist is Jean. She is awesome. The entire staff is amazing. Jean uses the best products on your hair. She also tells you how to take care of your hair. That is very important. I have been going to the salon for the last two years. Before Jean, my hair was damaged from being over processed. Now, it is long, thick and very healthy. All the compliments and comments about my hair have been very positive. Some people have asked me if it is my “real” hair. Ladies, we feel good when our hair looks good! I have recommended the salon to all my family, friends and co-workers.... more
