About Rock Hall

Rock Hall is a town that is located on the eastern side of Chesapeake Bay. It lies in the state of Maryland in Kent County. It has a population of a little less than 2,000 people. It is a growing center for fresh seafood including oysters and crabs as it is home to many marinas that cater to the ability to find and grow such creatures. And, because of this, there are many restaurants in the area that are exceptional at preparing seafood and have become well known for their fare throughout the country. One of the most notable residents to come from Rock Hall is David Mench. Rock Hall is often said to be the pearl of the Chesapeake because of its quaint fishing town status. It can find its roots leading all the way back to 1707, near the beginning of the United States itself. Now, Rock Hall is known for its marine life as well as because it is a prime boating destination with many artists, music, entertainment and festivals that happen all year round. In fact every year they hold the Kent County Watermen’s Day, the Junior Olympic Sailing Festival and the Buskin & Batteau. Some of the best places to eat are the Bay Wolf Restaurant, the Dockside Café, Ford’s Seafood and the Harbor Shack, which all offer a wide array of fresh food delivered straight from the ocean to your plate. Rock Hall participates in the Kent County Public School system that has schools for grades K-12.
