About Barton City

Barton City is in the Huron National Forest in the very center of Alcona County. Major attractions include the "The Biggest 4th in the North" , with over 10,000 people in attendance. One of the best places to visit when you are in Barton City is Jewell Lake on the waters of Lake Huron, which has a little island nestled in the center and offers boating, swimming, and hiking and in the winter offers snowmobile trails. Barton City hosts an annual Labor Day Baseball Tournament every year, bringing in teams from all over the state of Michigan. The tournament helps raise money for MDA.
