The Bible says to avoid fermented wine and strong drink. There's a difference between "fresh" wine and fermented or aged wine and vinegar. Fresh wine is fruit juice, anything else has spoiled. Even Jesus refused vinegar (considered to be an anesthetic) on the cross to keep His mind clear for what was to come.

If your church is serving alcohol then they've missed the point. Fresh wine (grape juice) should be served instead.

Legal rights are in a gray area and not worth pursuing. You do have the right not to go back to the diner again. what I would have done is talk to the manager. There may have been a good reason for the delay. "The increased number of orders for the all you can eat menu choice was overwhelming and they had to thaw more product, or run out and buy more. The kitchen was overwhelmed, etc. Either way the management should have let you know. If you had a legitimate complaint then the management could offer to take the item off of your bill or give you a gift certificate for your next visit. However, to ignore the issue invites a negative review on Merchant Circle or elsewhere. Be honest in your review. If the food and service were good except for the all you can eat experience say so. Be exact, don't be hateful. Good restaurants use your reviews to improve their service. If you go back next time you may see a positive change.
