Wiper Damage
If a damaged windshield wiper is used in the rain and the windshield becomes scratched, is there anything that can be done short of replacing the windshield to fix it?

Some auto glass shops will polish windshields which will reduce how noticeable the scratches are. This has to be done very carefully or the windshield will crack from the heat of polishing or there will be distortions in the driver's vision due to variations in glass thickness after polishing.
Usually scratches due to the metal of the wiper blade or arm are too deep to polish successfully, replacement is the only option.
