New Brighton is a city in Ramsey County of Minnesota known for its Minneapolis Stockyards and Packing Company. Major attractions include Richard J. Hansen Park, Freedom Park, and Long Lake Regional Park. Each year in the summers, there are summer park programs that allow kids to explore nature and outdoors. Among the biggest companies in New Brighton are Minneapolis Stockyards and Packing Company. The biggest schools here are Irondale High School and Highview Middle School. One of the best places to visit when you are in New Brighton is the New Brighton Library. New Brighton has a local newspaper, The Bulletin that keeps the residents informed about the various events in the city. It is believed that the famous Minnesota explorer Zebulon Pike had traveled through New Brighton in 1814.
