About Park Rapids

Park Rapids, home to Itasca State Park, is located in and the county seat of Hubbard County, Minnesota. The city was founded in 1890 and was named after prairies and park groves that are along the Fish Hook River Rapids. There are two public schools located in the city: Century School for grades k-8 and the Park Rapids Area High School for grades 9-12. Park Avenue School of Cosmetology is also located within the city. One of the city's major attractions are the snow mobile trails that are located here and there is always a lot of snow. Among the biggest businesses located in Park Rapids are Eagle Bay Farms and Headwater Agency,Inc.
