Jasper is a city located in Jasper County, Missouri. It is considered to be part of the Joplin Metro Area. The city is well known for being the nominal setting of the movie Road House starring Patrick Swayze, although the movie was not filmed in Jasper. The city is host to annual events such as the Veteran's Appreciation Celebration and the Jasper Appreciation Celebrations. The city is also home to one city park and a baseball and softball complex.
