The first thing you want to do is go to a licensed Podiatrist and see if your infection really is a "Fungus". I have interned with a Podiatrist and many people make the mistake of "diagnosing" their nail infections themselves. Or going to a local salon to see if they will "diagnose" the problem. (Note: a nail technician cannot diagnose outside of their area of licensesure. If a nail technician should notice something unusual they should always recommend treatment by a Professional Podiatrist)
Next, once you have a proper diagnosis of a nail fungal infection, there are many ways to go about taking care of it. Listen to what your physician (Podiatrist) recommends and see if He or She is willing to work with a local Nail Technician for aftercare or care during treatment.

Wash the teak wood so that it as clean as possible. You can use a pressure washer or you can try to clean it by hand. Regardless of the method that you use, be certain that the wood is clean before you begin to treat it.

Allow the wood to dry before you begin treating it. Once it is dry, move on to the next step. Drying time varies depending on the humidity in the area that the boat is in.

Apply a teak treatment to the wood with a brush. There are several products available on the market. One product called Teak Wonder comes with all three products that you need to make sure that your teak wood looks as good and is as protected as it can be.

Wait for the treatment to dry. Then apply sealer to the wood. This gives the wood the best possible appearance and protects it from being damaged by harsh weather. Since boats spend a lot of time in the water, even hardy wood like teak can degrade over time. The sealer prolongs the life of the wood. Apply this using a brush that is clean.

Wait for the sealer to dry before you let the teak wood get wet again. Once it has dried, you can use your boat normally.
