Gildford is a small census-designated place in the northern region of the state of Montana in Hill County. The area has a population of about 200 people and it is a total of about 5 square miles. There is a creek that snakes along the border of the town and Highway 2 crosses the edge of the town and is used by the commuters in the area. The elementary school is currently located in Gildford but the Junior and Seniuor High Schools now find themselves in Rudyard, a town close by. Some of the major attractions in the area are the Badlands, Bear Paw Battlefield, the Dino Trail, Fort Assinniboine and the H. Earl Clack Museum. The area is known for its strong sense of agriculture and many parks, with over 20 within short driving distance. Some of the businesses located in Gilford are K&K Wildlife Taxidermy & Tanning and Vandesandt Bros.
