Yes this condition, as any gas related problems, is dangerous.
Your furnace is experiencing delayed ignition. This condition can be caused by improper gas pressure, a slow opening gas valve, a misdirected pilot flame or orifice, dirty or sooty orifices or burners, and drafts across the burners.
In typical fashion delayed ignition is usually marked with a loud bang or swoosh upon actually lighting.
Your furnace utilizes a pilot Re-ignition system. When your t-stat calls for heat the spark ignitor is energized along with the "pilot" gas valve. When working properly the pilot is quickly lit and the flame retification circuit shuts down the ignitor via the pilot flame and main gas valve opens and the pilot flame ignites the main burners.
Please contact a reputable, qualified service company and get it fixed. Don't be suprised if the suggest a new furnace as the pilot Re-ignition model is past its prime.

SCREWED US OVER BIG TIME!!!!
DO NOT USE CELINE MICHELLE PHOTOGRAPHY! We used her for our wedding in September 2011. It took almost 9 months to see our pictures and we still do not have our album, which we paid for, well over a year later! She does NOT return phone calls, emails, messages on Facebook, nothing. I had to leave her a voicemail screaming that she has stollen our money and how could she do that to someone for her to send the pictures that looked barely edited. Apparently, she does this a lot. Moves from town to town taking pictures and runs with the money to the next victim (Colorado, Montana and now Florida). She has burned MANY bridges here in Montana. You can tell when a photographer takes pride in their work and you can tell by looking at her pictures that she does not ANYMORE! PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE DO NOT PUT YOURSELVES THROUGH THIS BY USING CELINE MICHELLE PHOTOGRAPHY. It broke my heart.... more

I had just the opposite of that experience. Celine did a stellar job with or family portraits. she was on time and professional. We got our pictures back with 3 weeks which I believe is a normal time frame if yo check with other photographers. he prices were competitive and she has an eye for catching the right picture. would certainly use her again.... more
