Advance is an unincorporated community in Davie County, North Carolina, located along Hwy NC 801 and Hwy 158. Advance is part of the Piedmont Triad, an area that is surrounded by the three cities, Greensboro, Winston-Salem, and High Point. The common population of Advance is 10,762. The area of Advance has grown at an accelerated rate over the last decade, with the surrounding cities reaching out into the quiet suburbs of the community. Still, Advance has managed to keep a small town charm. The Advance Masonic Lodge and the Advance Volunteer Fire Department are two of the fixtures that help to maintain its aesthetic.
