Repair broken spring
I called Brian when my garage door spring broke on a Saturday morning. He was there very quickly and did a temporary repair so I could use my garage over the weekend. He came back early on the day we agree and replaced the springs with new and better springs. Brian is very professional and does great work at a very fair price. Backyard Grill has the best Ribeye you will ever put in your mouth, on Saturday nights they have 2 -10 oz. dinners for 20 bucks, includes a 10oz steak and 2 sides, my favorite side is the okra but the potatoes are great too they are not dried out. The steak is so tender and flavorful, if you go once you will return. And the service is awesome too they have a friendly waitstaff, that seem to work as a team.... more

Four Winds Cafe
Amazing!
I came upon Four Winds Cafe by accident and almost didn't stop. From the outside, it looked like any one of many rural roadside coffee joints that serve up the kind of standard high-carb, high calorie fare around the state. But I was hungry, and I was with a local who LOVES these little places. What a surprise! Steve Holmes, owner/chef, has prepared food for the best, from the White House to the PGA and the tobacco barons in Winston-Salem.. He also taught at CIA in Hyde Park. 4WC serves nightly specials (don't call ahead to see what's cooking because Steve probably hasn't yet decided) with prices that reflect the market, and offers a $10 plate menu that is amazing. I ordered a Jerk Pork chop served on a bed of finely shredded sweet potato fries with a delicious onion chutney on top. Freshly steamed (and NOT overcooked!) sliced carrots and tiny broccoli florettes were served on the side. The flavor was wonderful and the presentation equally tasteful. 4WC is a real find!... more

Last night during the snow/sleet/rain, I came home and opened the garage door to find that it wouldn't open. I went through the house to the garage and saw where the spring coil on the door had snapped in two. I immediately looked online and called several repair companies to get quotes. Alliance was the most reasonable and also offered to come out that evening to put a clamp on the coil so we could put our cars in for the evening. This was around 5:00 when I called and our door was temporarily repaired by 6:30. The next morning Brian called me to inform me that he would be there by 10:30 a.m. after picking up the new coil. I was extremely pleased w/ the professional service he gave and especially the most reasonable price!... more
