Splat! cakes n' such
I comparison shopped, Splat! is FAR BETTER
Just so I would have a point of comparison, I visited the cupcake place at Eastridge Mall yesterday (nearby). They had a pretty good selection of cupcakes so upon first inspection I was impressed. I think their cupcakes are just a little more expensive than Splat! Bakery cupcakes, maybe a quarter each. So I take two cupcakes home to my family to sample and...total disappointment. What could have been a great cupcake got ruined by rushed preparation. They were dry and the icing on one of the cupcakes was just too gritty; IMHO icing should be just a little LESS grainy from the sugar. Needless to say, they don't hold a candle to the cupcakes we have enjoyed at Splat!. I will be getting all my non-homemade cupcakes from there, especially when they have the incomparable "maple bacon" cupcake on the menu. YUMMMMM!! Put in a little more travel time and head to Splat! They're so much better. This coming from a total cupcake snob.... more

I bought the chocolate cake for a birthday. This was perfect. It reminds me of my mom's cakes. Moist cake, and perfect icing. Like I said on facebook, this place will get ALL of my business for cakes going forward. Excellent stuff.... more

It appeared obvious that this is a common everyday practice for him and any body else who engages in these type of manipulation [sales] techniques. If I had to sum him up in a single word, that word would be smug or snob. Anyway, I was exhausted, had no more time for games, so I left. Yes, I chalk it up to lessons learned. You can bet I won't be back there any time soon! I do give them credit for allowing me to take the 1st Sonata home Tuesday night. It did at least put the Sonata in the running with the Toyota Camry.... more
