A major attraction here is the Plummer House Museum, a historic 1897 mansion that has been converted into a museum. Some of the businesses in Hillsboro are Hillsboro Fire Hall Kitchen and Hillsboro Cooling Heating & Refrigeration Inc. Hillsboro Elementary School and Hillsboro High School are located here. One of the best places to visit when you are in Hillsboro is the nearby Red River State Recreation Area, located about 40 minutes away and with campsites, boating, fishing, birding and multi-use trails.
