Pettibone is a close knit community of less than 100 people in the northeastern region of Kidder County in North Dakota known for its gently rolling hills and cattle production. Major attractions include Dad Brown's Pool Hall and hunting lodges. This year in July Pettibone celebrated both Independence Day and their Centennial. Among the biggest companies in Pettibone are Pettibone Junction, and the M & M Bar. The closest large school is Bismark State College, 65 miles away, and the local school closed in 2007 for lack of students. One of the best places to visit when you are in Pettibone is Carol's Kitchen. Famous persons from Pettibone include its founder Lee C. Pettibone.
