About Gering

Gering is a small town in western Nebraska. Gering lies just east of Scotts Bluff National Monument, a well-known landmark on the Oregon Trail. Visitors to Scotts Bluff can hike the Saddle Rock Trail, drive to the summit, visit the Oregon Trail Museum and Visitor Center, and even relive life on the Oregon Trail during the special Living History program on weekends during the summer. Other attractions include the North Platte Valley Museum and the Farm and Ranch Museum. Students in Gering attend the Gering Public Schools. Events in Gering include the Gering Arts Festival which is held in June and features the work of more than 40 artists. Businesses in Gering include Midwest Construction and Main Street Appliances.
