About Medford

Medford, New Jersey, is located 11 miles east of Philadelphia, and east of I-295, and the New Jersey Turnpike. Philadelphia International Airport, is the closest International airport to Medford. There are other airports in the area. Medford has a hotel, called the Flying W Airport, with full service, and a swimming pool that looks like an airplane. There are quite a few restaurants in the area. One of the most beautiful, may be, the most beautiful, gristmill and sawmill, is Kirby's Mill, in Medford. This is a large red brick house, referred to, as the "Miller's House." It serviced Philadelphia, and Baltimore, buyers. You can find out more about this, and the area, from the Medford Historical Society. Medford prides themselves on their schools. There are several schools. Kindergarton through 5th grade have 5 schools available, Milton H. Allen, Chairville, Cranberry Pines, Kirby's Mill, and Taunton Forge, Schools. 6th grade, Haines Memorial Sixth Grade Center. 7th and 8th grade, Medford Memorial Middle School. 9th-12th grade, Shawnee High School, which is a part of the Lenape Regional High School District. These schools are managed by the Medford Township Public Schools, and overseen by the Medford Township Board of Education.
