About Trenton

Ah, the capital city of the state of New Jersey! This large, well-established city is located in Mercer County and it has a deep, though often overlooked, history.

Established November 13, 1792, Trenton is a city almost as old as the USA itself! Due to these far-reaching roots, there are a number of major historical attractions, including:

• A battle monument commemorating the American victory at the 1st battle of Trenton
• The Meredith Havens Fire Museum, which details the history of its over 200 year-old fire department
• The Old Barracks Museum, a bunker used to house troops during the French & Indian War, the 1775 & 1776 battles of Trenton, as well as the Revolutionary War

For 10 years now, an annual tradition (as well as a major attraction) has been the Ernie White Band & Friends Christmas Benefit Concert. Proceeds from this show have, in prior years, gone toward organizations such as Trenton Head Start, The New York Times 9/11 Fund, The Boys & Girls Club Of Trenton, and Children Of Fallen Soldiers Relief Fund.

Among the biggest companies in Trenton are Chase Aircraft, Eastwind Airlines, The Chadwick China Company, and American Chicle Company.
