What is the best type of music to listen to during a massage? Are nature sounds good for helping one to relax?
Classical or exact opposite something like Pantera so she can really pound my back out.
Do you find businesses are spending less on advertising in the poor economy? Can you recommend a few less costly ways of advertising for a struggling business?
This is an interesting question.
Long story short, cutting your advertising costs is never a good idea.
If a particular way of advertising isn't working, then invest your money in another method. Marketing is a lot of trial and error. However, once you find the method that works best for you, that issue will disappear.
The general rule of thumb is to set yourself a realistic budget. If your advertising expenses outweigh your profits, then yes you may have to lower your advertising budget.
Business is about making money, simple as that. If you're spending more than you're making then your business is going to falter.
Before cutting your advertising, look at the other expenses you could trim first.
Similar to the previous answer, I'd highly recommend focusing on improving client relations.
Ask yourself detailed questions about your business. What makes my business so special? Why would and should clients come to you? Why aren't customers coming? What can I give away to get people in the door? What type of incentives am I offering for referrals and returning customers?
Are you registered with your local chamber of commerce? If not, you should be. Attending local events with promotional items can be a really smart and affordable way to garner business. Sponsoring local charities or organizations can also be an affordable way to get exposure.
When you're going to do something really amazing for your community, let the press know about it. Press releases are one of the smartest investments you can make. It usually takes about 3 press releases to make a real impression.
Once you have radio, television, and news agencies beating down your door you won't be disappointed by the results.
If you need more ideas, drop me a line. I'll be happy to help.
