About Wenonah

Wenonah is a borough located in the New Jersey county of Gloucester. It is about ten miles south of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The city is almost completely residential with most residents commuting to Philadelphia for work. It was founded in 1871 by Philadelphia businessman as a resort town. There are numerous recreation lakes located in Wenonah. The city is also host to numerous annual events such as Halloween in the Park, a Tree Lighting Celebration for Christmas, as well as a Fourth of July parade that was voted as one of the top ten small town Fourth of July parades. Students here attend the Wenonah School District or the Gateway Regional High School. Famous people with ties to the city include author Michael Capuzzo and hall of fame college football coach Bob Steuber.
