Long past its prime, San Fidel was once a town filled with cafes and automobile services. It is located 18 miles from Grants, New Mexico. As of today, there is a Catholic Church that runs a private Catholic School across the street. It also has a post office still running that was established in 1919. About the only thing you will see now is a stray dog walking down the street. Back when Route 66 was used heavily, Native Americans would sit along the road and sell pottery. Local businesses today include Black Mound Service and Pueblo.
