Goldfield is a city located in Esmeralda County, Nevada. It is also the county seat. The city started as a boomtown due to gold being discovered in the area around 1902. In 1924, much of the city was destroyed by fire. Some buildings, such as the Goldfield Hotel, the Consolidated Mines Building and the schoolhouse, did survive. Today, these building are tourist attractions. Every August, the city hosts the Goldfield Days Festival which includes land auctions, a parade, and historical displays. Many films, such as "Vanishing Point", "Cherry 2000", and "Desert Blue", were filmed in Goldfield. Businesses located in the city include Hidden Treasures Trading Company, The Clubhouse, The Northern Saloon Cafe, The Mozart, and Goldfield RV Park & Mini Storage.
