The casino gambling center of the United States,Las Vegas is also the nation's fastest-growing area, as many casinos have made themselves over as family-friendly destinations. In fact, it bills itself as ?the Entertainment Capital of the World? to place emphasis on other attractions such as fine dining, shopping and world-class entertainment. The city was founded in 1911 but saw little growth until after the completion of the Hoover Dam in 1935, which assured a supply of water. The real boom started in the 1940s, when the first casinos were built, and the city has seen a massive redevelopment to the south of the original Las Vegas Strip in recent years. Also home to a recent boom in reality T.V. shows. You can visit the boys at the Gold and Silver Pawn shop that is featured on "Pawn Stars", or see the crew at Enchanted Florist from the show "Wild Flowers".
