I would encourage you to think about the following questions before starting an e-mail marketing campaign:
-What exactly are you looking to accomplish with your e-mail marketing? Get new customers? Encourage your existing customers to buy from you more frequently? Then...I would encourage you to figure out what you will say to your customers to encourage them to signup to receive e-mails from your company. Will you give them special discounts? Enter into a contest to receive a special prize from your business? It is important, when setting up an e-mail campaign, to send out e-mails only to customers that express permission to receive e-mails from you. So...what you could do is put together some sort of a sheet that tells your customers what you will get out of your e-mail marketing campaign...and then perhaps have one of your employees add the e-mail addresses to your company's e-mail list. You can also add an e-mail signup form on a website to get customers to signup as well. To setup an e-mail marketing campaign, you can utilize several different tools:
-Aweber - one of the most reliable e-mail marketing services in the industry
-Comf5 - which gives you the opportunity to send out video e-mails (as well as develop an e-mail list)
Then....you will need to develop e-mail marketing messages to be sent out at certain time intervals. It is important to think about how often your customers will want to hear from you - and write effective e-mails that will get opened. Also, I would recommend looking into how to write effective e-mails that will get opened by customers that subscribe to your e-mail list. Some metrics that you can use to measure your e-mail marketing effectiveness include the "open rate", the "click through rate" and the # of people that unsubscribe from you. Is this helpful?
