About Bay Shore

Bay Shore is actually an hamlet that is located in the town of Islip, that is located in Suffolk County, New York. In 2008, the city celebrated it's 300th anniversary. Students living here attend the Bay Shore Union Free School District which consists of five elementary schools, one middle school and one high school. Movies such as Married to the Mob, Last Summer, and Birth have scenes that were filmed in Bay Shore. Most of the cities larger businesses, such as Entenmann's, are located on the north side of the city. Fishing and charter boats make up a large part of the city's economy. The city is home to many historic mansions and estates such as homes owned by Charlie Chaplin and Mabel Nordman. The J.P. Morgan estate, which was once owned by the Johnson & Johnson Family, is also located in Bay Shore. Famous people with ties to the area include author Mario Puzo, actress Zsa Zsa Gabor, hip hop star L.L. Cool J and singer Patti Austin.
