Chazy is located in Clinton County, New York about 8 miles from Canada. At the time of the 2000 census, the town had a population of 4,181. The town was settled in 1763 and was named after Lieutenant de Chézy who was killed by the Iroquois. Area attractions include Lake Champlain (which forms the border with Vermont border), Little Chazy River, and Chazy Landing. Miner Institute, affiliated with Cornell University, is the largest school in Chazy and is also home to the historic William Miner's One Room Schoolhouse. Chazy's businesses include Riley Ford Inc and Adventures Unlimited Outdoor Travel.
