Long Eddy is a hamlet in the extreme western part of the town of Fremont, located in Sullivan County, New York, by the Delaware River. Fremont was founded in 1851 and was created from a portion of the town of Callicoon. Local businesses in Long Eddy include Shamrock Hill Inn, Catskill Pheasantry & Sporting Clays Inc and Douglas City Grill & Convenience Store. There is plenty to see and do within a short drive of Long Eddy including enjoying outdoor recreation at one of three lakes in Freemont, namely Tennanah Lake, Lake Muskoday and Lake Anawanda or practice your swing at the Fremont Golf Club, an 18-hole PGA golf course.
