About West Babylon

West Babylon, a census-designated place, is located on Long Island in the State of New York. It has a large population that registers at almost 45,000. It is the most populated area of the town of Babylon and its prime location near the sparkling Long Island beaches make it ever more desirable. On top of that, it boasts an exemplary school system that once had to recover from an enormous fire. The schools in West Babylon include: Forest Avenue Elementary, John F. Kennedy Elementary, Santapogue Elementary, South Bay Elementary, Tooker Avenue Elementary, West Babylon Junior High School and West Babylon High School. Many famous people come from West Babylon including the Fox News reporter Geraldo Rivera, Harold Dieterle and Kevin Russo. West Babylon enjoys milder winters than the rest of New York and its summers are always filled with golden, liquid sunshine. There is efficient public transportation from the CDP to New York City and a lot of people commute to their job from West Babylon on a daily basis. The many volunteer driven organizations hold events in West Babylon all year round including events such as the Women’s Club Luncheons or Western Dance Nights.
