What should be done to keep the room above the garage from becoming too cold during the winter?
I have this questioned asked by my customers all the time. First off, if the garage is insulated (properly) above the ceiling then your problem is with the heating system. Almost 90% of the time I am confronted with this issue it's because the contractor did not size the ductwork correctly to carry the proper amount of airflow into the living space. Before you spend money installing space heaters or even adding a return register, which most Heating and A/C companies will recommend to you, do yourself a favor and find a qualified Airflow Balancing Contractor. Let's assume you’re heating and A/C units are not the problem and are sized correctly. The duct system is another factor in this equation and must be calculated to supply the design cfm airflow for that particular room. If it cannot supply the proper cfm then it will never reach desired temperatures. For example: if the room needs 200 cubic feet of air every minute to maintain set (thermostat) temperature whether your heating or cooling the space, but the ductwork can only supply 100 cfm do you think it will ever be comfortable? Have someone test your system for performance first before doing anything else. Why should you install additional heating appliances when you have a central heating system? Correct the one you have!

I took my black lab mix to be washed, blown out, trimmed up, and nails ground down. When I returned to get him, they tried to charge me $40...HOWEVER...he was never bathed, nails were not only not done...but one was bleeding. The nail is cracked and she wanted me to come in and hold him so she could try again! He never wanted to leave somewhere so bad. I am not sure why I even paid her the $20 I left her, because she did nothing. Her response was "well, you brought him here". Oh, and he was crammed in a crate that was for a dog half his size. Never plan to return and would recommend that all dogs stay away from there!... more
