In a professional opinion, what is the best camera to purchase for taking action shots at sporting events such as a football game or a track and field event?

The best camera for sporting events is any that will fit on the most expensive lens you can get your hands on for the shoot. It will depend on your distance from the players and whether or not you are getting individual shots or trying to capture entire groups in the same shot. Go to a photography store that rents professional setups. Go with what they'd recommend based on real life information about the specific event you are shooting for. You won't be able to buy the lens you need, they're too expensive. Just expect to rent what you will use and make up the cost from the image sales.

Dr. Nothnagel holds patients hostage for 3 hours to extort money from them.
Waited for 3 hours to have a picture taken after pupils were dilated. Then were told the camera was not working and we would have to reschedule. Dilation somehow went wrong at 5pm eyes are hurting & stinging. Stay away from Ohio Retina Associates!... more
