About Elyria

Elyria(http://www.merchantcircle.com/contentwriter/edit/city/OH-Elyria) is a quaint city located in Lorain County(http://www.loraincounty.com) in Ohio(http://ohio.gov/). Founded in the 19th century, it is named after its founder, Heman Ely(http://hikingohioparks.com/cascade-elywoods-park-hiking-ohio-parks.html). Elyria is a part of the Cleveland-Elyria-Mentor metropolitan area. Equipped with a large number of parks, Elyria's Cascade park is quite popular with the scenic Black River winding through it. A large number of schools dot the city including the Elyria High School. Currently, the city is attracting a lot of small businesses and is also home to many corporate headquarters . Norma Jean Wright of the band Chic, Matt Wilhelm(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Matt_Wilhelm) and football player Steve Tovar hail from Elyria.
