About Zanesville

Zanesville is located in central Ohio and serves as the seat for Muskingum County. Longaberger Company is a major employer that sells baskets and other home and lifestyle products. A local branch of Ohio University also employs residents. Students attend Zanesville City public schools. An interesting attraction, the National Road/Zane Grey museum, serves a dual purpose. Visitors learn about the national road that town-founder Ebenezer Zane began to create to link several states. Visitors also learn about Zanesville author Zane Grey, the father of the Western novel. Summer visitors have the chance to win and make baskets at the annual American Summer Celebration, held at the Longaberger Homestead. An even more unique experience is crossing Zanesville's "Y bridge," which really does branch out in the shape of a "Y."
