I've seen a couple people go through post-partum and it's a tough thing. These people were severly depressed. They found relief by talking to a naturopathic doctor that started them on hormone replacement therapy and "felt back to normal" within a relatively short period of time. Obvioulsy this can be different for everone because it's basically a chemical/hormonal thing.

You can alter any exercise to improve reflex, this is called reactive training and focuses on the tempo and manner of the exercise. For example a pushup can be altered by reducing the speed of the negative movement (lowering your body to the floor) and increasing the speed of the positive movement (pushing yourself back up) even to the point of explosively pushing yourself up fast enough to bring your hands off the ground. Even running and cardio can be done in this fashion.
