Vida is located in Lane County, Oregon along the McKenzie River. Originally called Gate Creek, the name was changed to Vida (the name of the postmaster's daughter) in 1898. Vida is home to the second longest covered bridge in Oregon, the Goodpasture Bridge, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Area attractions include the Willamette National Forest, Howard Buford County Park, and Fall Creek State Recreation Area. The closest school to Vida is McKenzie River Christian School in Leaburg. Vida businesses include the Vida Cafe and the Wayfarer Resort.
