What are other important factors when choosing a moving company and a storage company?
Speaking from experience, have someone from the moving company come look at the items to be moved.
Get that person to write down the price for a flat rate move.....
DO NOT LET THEM WORK BY THE HOUR. VERY IMPORTANT.
ALSO, IF YOU ARE MOVING INTO A FLOOR ABOVE GROUND LEVEL, AND THERE ARE NO EVEVATORS, MAKE SURE THE MOVING CO KNOWS THIS AND WRITES IT IN THE ESTIMATE.
The last time I use a company and didn't know any better, it cost me $800 when the original estimate was 200.00. Quite a difference.
When they work by the hour, they can take all day to get your stuff moved. My movers took one little lamp at a time, in one hand,,,,,,,had a empty hand there......
Depending upon hp, there are shortblocks available that might make it worth while, typically around 200.00 uo here anyway>

Place is horrible in prices. Bought a box of nails because they were close thinking it could not be that much more than home depot. Bought it and paid more than double what hd had it for. Took the box back and got my money back. Be real careful if you ever consider having anything serviced there. They will nickle and dime you to death making a 30 dollar repair into a 120 dollars. Would NEVER recommend them to anyone.... more
This is the address of my father using his name. He died 3/13/1987. This Corp. was made Inc. in 2007. This is a corp using my father's name unless this was developed by one of the family's members. I do not know who this might be. My mother died June of 2010 and she lived at this residence shown above from 7/1948. I am the eldest sibling of EJDOERR'S children. This home was sold this year and I do not know who lives in it. I desire to know who the incorporators are utilizing my dad's name? Should anyone read this please contact me and let me know what this business association has with my dad? I can be contacted at my email address: dr_doerr@pstel.net Thank you Ed... more
Contacted Mike Mazy (owner/operator of Fox Chase Restoration and The Barnwood Store)about beams to be used as floor joists. He showed me product on site and we agreed to a sale. He informed me they would be ready for pickup within 3 weeks. 3 weeks came and went. I called and sent emails to no avail. Finally got a delivery two months later only to find that he pulled a "bait and switch." He provided rotten, mortise hole laden beams, of which only one met the measurements contracted for. I got in touch with him immediately but before I could explain the situation, he laughed and told me to "have a nice life" and hung up. I am out a significant amount of money with nothing to show but a pile of firewood. Don't pay any money upfront unless you see the product that you want and can take it with you at the time of purchase. The owner is extremely dishonest. Do not trust him or his representatives no matter how many promises they make, how nice they appear or how accommodating they seem.... more
Love this place! Came with my mom for the first time. Staff was helpful, the place is clean and well lit, and the Owner was there personally, answering questions and helping people load there finds. A HUGE selection of things, from old records to amazing antique furniture they clean and polish themselves. Its ready to use when you get it home. Everyone was friendly and didnt hound us while we looked around. A very nice, surprising find we will come back to again... more
