Effort is a part of the Eastern region of Pennsylvania known for its Pennsylvania Dutch area and rural Pocono area. Major attractions include swimming or boating and offers beautiful picnic spots during sunrise, sunset, and any time in between.. Each year in the fall season there is a beautiful foliage display among the hills. Among the biggest companies in Effort are Investor's Abstract Inc, and
Barley Creek Brewing Company. The biggest schools here are the Pleasant Valley School District and the Pen Argyl Area School District. One of the best places to visit when you are in Effort is Lake Harmony, located at the heart of the Poconos. Famous persons from Effort include Jonathan Frakes from Star Trek Next Generation who grew up nearby.
