Granite is a natural stone solid surface material and if taken care of will last for many many years. If you sratch the surface it can be buffed and will look like new again. Formica is a man made product which is not a solid surface top and will last the least amount of time. There are other man made solid surface tops like Corion that will last a long time again if taken care of. Granite will last the longest.
