Wyano is a part of the southwestern area of Pennsylvania known for its long history of coal production. Wyano is a family friendly vacation site that has activities to suit every family member including the nearby Idlewild Amusement Park, Living Treasures Animal Park and Statler’s Fun Center. Nearby historical attractions include the Frick Art & Historical Center, which houses the personal art collection of Helen Clay Frick, and Fort Ligonier, a British fortification from the French and Indian War. Each summer season there is the Westmoreland Arts & Heritage Festival that highlights area arts and crafts, foods and performing arts. Among the biggest companies in the area are Breakiron Heating, Air Conditioning & Refrigeration and Certified Electrical Technologies. The largest schools in the area are Seton Hall University and Westmoreland County Community College. One of the best places to visit when you are in Wyano is the nearby National Museum of Broadcasting, which honors the birthplace of the broadcasting industry.
