About Rock Hill

Rock Hill, in the north-central part of South Carolina, is a part of the Charlotte metro region known for its mild climate, affordable housing, and the close proximity to larger city attractions it provides as a suburb of Charlotte, NC. Major attractions include nearby Carowinds amusement park, Lowe's Motor Speedway, and historic Brattonsville. Each year in the spring season there is the Come-See-Me Festival, a 10-day community celebration rated one of the top community festivals in the South and featured in Southern Living Magazine. Among the biggest companies in Rock Hill are Comporium Communications and the health care industry's Piedmont Medical Center. The biggest schools here are Winthrop University and York Technical College. One of the best places to visit when you are in Rock Hill is Glencairn Garden, an 11-acre landscaped garden in the heart of Rock Hill. Famous persons from Rock Hill include country music singer David Ball. Vernon Grant, creator of the Kellogg's Rice Krispies cereal characters Snap, Crackle, and Pop, also lived in Rock Hill.
