About Pine Ridge

Pine Ridge, South Dakota is located near Wounded Knee. The Pine Ridge reservation is home to the Oglala Sioux, a Native American tribe. They even have their headquarters in Pine Ridge, called Oglala Sioux Tribe Offices. The Pine Ridge reservation has roughly 40,000 people. While unemployment plaques the community, there are businesses attempting to flourish like Suanne Big Crow Inc and S& S Construction. Powwows (also known as "wacipi's" in the Lakota language), rodeos, and races are some of the entertainment that Pine Ridge has come to celebrate.
