About Alvin

Alvin is a city in the state of Texas and it is a part of the Brazoria County. The city belongs to the Houston–Sugar Land–Baytown Metropolitan Area and the city is known for its Nolan Ryan Museum and the Alvin Community College. Major attractions of the city are the museum dedicated to the basketball Hall of Famer Nolan Ryan. The sports-lovers of the state gather every now and then in the city and frequently visit the museum, which has become an inspiration for the young players. The city was officially incorporated in 1893 and today it has become a fully developed city with a sound and strong network of transportation, health-care and educational facilities. The city celebrates the annual Frontier Day every year in the falls season. The city has numerous schools and colleges spread in and around it. The Alvin Community College and Alvin High School are the biggest educational establishments of the city. The city is served by the Alvin Independent School District. The famous places and tourist spots in the city worth visiting are Alvin Golf & Country Club and the Alvin Library.
